Wren Sinclair pulled off one of the boldest stunts of the year on WWE NXT, sneaking into the Women’s Championship No. 1 contender’s battle royal while under suspension by disguising herself as AAA star Lady Shani. The ruse worked, and Sinclair last eliminated Kali Armstrong to earn a title opportunity against Kelani Jordan at Halloween Havoc on October 31.
The main event of the October 6, 2026 episode of NXT on The CW was a 20-wrestler interpromotional battle royal to determine the next challenger for Jordan’s NXT Women’s Championship. According to Fightful, TNA Knockouts Television Champion M by Elegance almost accidentally eliminated her own tag team partner during the chaos of the match before Sinclair’s disguise was revealed as the deciding factor in the finish.
Diva Dirt reported that Armstrong believed she had won the match after last eliminating Lizzy Rain, only to turn around and find the disguised Sinclair still in the ring. Sinclair then eliminated Armstrong to claim the win and the No. 1 contender’s spot, exposing her disguise in the process since she was not supposed to be competing at all due to her ongoing suspension.
The aftermath saw Robert Stone address the controversy surrounding the finish after NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan demanded answers over how Sinclair was permitted to compete in the first place, according to Ringside News. The situation leaves Sinclair’s status heading into Halloween Havoc in question even as she is slated to challenge for the title, since the circumstances of her entry into the battle royal remain a point of dispute within NXT.
Sinclair is now set to face Jordan for the NXT Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc on October 31, pending any further ruling from WWE officials on the legitimacy of her battle royal win.
