Gorilla Position — Week of October 12, 2026

Two moments defined this past week in professional wrestling, and both of them landed with the kind of genuine surprise that the business struggles to manufacture anymore. A 22-year-old from Birmingham became the youngest TNA champion in history, and a man who spent years redefining what a pro wrestler could be walked back into New Japan to remind everyone he still has unfinished business. The rest of the week filled in around those two poles, and it was a genuinely interesting seven days.
