Report: WWE Eyeing Oba Femi vs. Roman Reigns for WrestleMania

Dave Meltzer says WWE is looking at Oba Femi challenging Roman Reigns for WrestleMania after Femi's post-show confrontation with Reigns at Money in the Bank, as a separate report points to Reigns being positioned for Survivor Series as well.

WWE is planning to build toward a match between Oba Femi and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, according to Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. The update follows a notable confrontation between the two at WWE Money in the Bank, where Femi defeated Bronson Reed in singles competition and then told Reigns on the post-show that his time was running out.

Meltzer said he was told that Femi has been positioned as the long-term opponent WWE wants to build toward facing Reigns on the sport’s biggest stage, with the Money in the Bank post-show segment serving as the first public step in that direction. Femi’s win over Bronson Reed at the event added weight to the confrontation, giving him fresh momentum heading into any future program with Reigns.

The update comes as Reigns himself remains tied up in other business on WWE’s main roster. Reigns successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank, retaining the title in that outing. He was reportedly attending the Street Fighter premiere while his cousins, The Usos and Solo Sikoa, wrestled against Royce Keys and 946 the following night, according to a separate report from WrestleZone citing an update on Reigns’ plans for Survivor Series.

Together, the two reports paint a picture of a packed runway for Reigns across the remainder of the year and into WrestleMania season. He is tied to Survivor Series plans tracking toward the end-of-year premium live event, while also being positioned as Femi’s eventual WrestleMania opponent. Reigns’ extended family storyline involving the Usos and Solo Sikoa continues to run in parallel, with Keys and 946 serving as opposition in recent matches.

None of the reports indicate that a Femi-Reigns match has been officially confirmed by WWE, nor has a specific Survivor Series plan for Reigns been detailed beyond the existing report. The Money in the Bank post-show confrontation stands as the clearest on-screen signal so far that WWE intends to eventually pair the two for a singles match, with WrestleMania cited as the target destination.
