TNA Wrestling officially announced the signing of Shotzi Blackheart this week, and the former WWE Superstar has confirmed she intends to keep working independent dates even as she settles into her new promotion. Shotzi discussed the move on Busted Open Radio, telling the show she is excited about the opportunity to tell stories in TNA.
The signing caps a winding road for Shotzi following her exit from WWE, where her contract was not renewed in May 2025. Since then, she has been a fixture on the independent scene and also made appearances with MLW, building momentum heading into her new TNA deal, which was made official on Monday, October 20, 2025, according to Fightful.
Rather than treating the TNA signing as an exclusive arrangement that pulls her off the road, Shotzi made clear in her Busted Open Radio comments that she sees no conflict between her TNA commitments and her continued presence on the independent circuit. That approach mirrors a working model other TNA talents have used, allowing wrestlers to build their brand and in-ring reps across multiple promotions rather than being tied down to a single company’s schedule.
For Shotzi, the independent run since leaving WWE has functioned as a proving ground, giving her the freedom to work varied styles and opponents outside the confines of a major promotion’s creative direction. Her comments suggest that freedom remains a priority even with TNA now backing her. She framed her excitement around the chance to tell stories in TNA specifically, pointing to the promotion’s creative latitude as a draw rather than any restriction on her outside bookings.
The dual reporting from Fightful and 411Mania both confirm the same core details: the TNA signing is official, and Shotzi has publicly stated her intention to continue independent work. Neither outlet detailed specific matches, storylines, or a debut date for her TNA in-ring appearances, so those particulars remain to be seen as she begins this next chapter. What is established is that Shotzi Blackheart enters TNA with an already active 2025 slate behind her, and fans can expect to continue seeing her name on independent card announcements even as her TNA profile develops.
