Drew McIntyre has revisited a formative chapter of his WWE career, recalling how Vince McMahon placed The Undertaker in charge of him during his early push as “The Chosen One.” Speaking on The Joe Vulpis Podcast, McIntyre described how McMahon arranged for the veteran to oversee his development at a pivotal point in his career, according to 411Mania.

McIntyre also addressed how it felt to carry the “Chosen One” label, a moniker McMahon attached to him when he was elevated as a young prospect within the company. The branding placed considerable expectation on McIntyre early in his run, and having The Undertaker positioned as a mentor figure underscored how seriously WWE’s leadership treated his development at that stage.

Away from his in-ring career, McIntyre has increasingly turned his attention toward acting projects, both inside and outside of WWE’s own productions. In a separate conversation with Sidewalks Entertainment, reported by Fightful, McIntyre recalled meeting actors Robert Downey Jr. and Sam Jones, recounting two separate stories from his experiences brushing shoulders with established Hollywood figures as his own profile in the entertainment industry has grown.

McIntyre has named names such as Russell Crowe among those he has worked alongside as he builds out an acting resume that runs parallel to his wrestling career. That expanding body of work has kept him away from WWE television in recent appearances, as he has prioritized filming commitments tied to both WWE-produced projects and outside ventures.

Looking ahead, McIntyre told Fightful he would welcome the chance to take part in a horror-based project, specifically expressing a preference for playing a fearful protagonist rather than a villain. He framed the idea as one he finds more compelling than the alternative of portraying an antagonist within that genre, suggesting a clear direction for the type of role he would pursue if the opportunity arose.

Taken together, the two sets of comments paint a picture of a wrestler balancing reflection on his WWE origins with an eye toward a broadening career beyond the ring. McIntyre’s recollections about McMahon and The Undertaker offer insight into how WWE’s hierarchy shaped his early career, while his acting ambitions point to where he may be spending more of his time as his on-screen commitments with Hollywood figures continue to develop.
