Enzo Amore is addressing backlash over comments he made about AEW in an interview with Maven, clarifying that the footage was recorded in March 2025, not recently as its release date might suggest.
Maven posted the interview on Monday, in which Enzo looked back on some of his more infamous backstage moments, including fights he was involved in during his time in WWE, both those that were publicly reported and those that were not. In discussing the subject, Enzo took a shot at AEW, saying, “If I fist-fought another guy in the locker room in AEW, we’d be doing a ‘Being The Elite’ about it,” according to Fightful.
The comment drew attention online given its timing relative to the interview’s release, prompting Enzo to take to social media to clarify when the conversation actually took place. According to both Fightful and 411Mania, Enzo stated that the interview was recorded in early 2025, specifically in March of that year, well before it was made public this week.
Neither Enzo Amore nor AEW has offered further comment on the remarks beyond Enzo’s clarification about the recording date.
