Janel Grant, the former WWE employee whose January 2024 lawsuit accused Vince McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking, says she now feels “forgiveness” toward the former WWE chairman despite everything she alleges happened to her. Grant made the comment during an interview with POST Wrestling that was published on September 22, 2026.
Grant’s lawsuit, filed in January 2024, named McMahon, WWE and John Laurinaitis as defendants and accused McMahon of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon resigned from TKO and WWE following the filing of the lawsuit. Laurinaitis has since been dropped from the case, according to Fightful.
Asked directly what she feels toward McMahon as of September 22, 2026, Grant told POST Wrestling that she feels forgiveness, a striking answer given the severity of the allegations she has leveled against him over the past two years.
In the same conversation, Grant recalled the moment her life “came crashing down” in 2022, when she learned The Wall Street Journal was preparing to expose McMahon’s secret non-disclosure agreement arrangements. According to Grant, one of her first instincts amid that turmoil was not concern for herself but a question about whether McMahon himself was okay.
Grant also disclosed a separate and unrelated allegation from her childhood during the interview, claiming that she was sexually abused at around age 11 or 12 by an adult who allegedly groomed her at a horse barn, years before McMahon or WWE entered her life.
