Skydance has officially completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, and AEW president Tony Khan wasted no time addressing what it means for his promotion’s future.

Khan posted a video to social media on Tuesday afternoon, October 6, 2026, ahead of the airing of AEW Grand Slam France, which had been taped earlier that day at Adidas Arena in Paris. During the video, Khan ran down the show’s lineup and also spoke about AEW’s relationship with its newly restructured corporate partner.

According to F4W Online and Ringside News, Khan said he already “loves working for Skydance” and described AEW as having a “great future” under the new ownership. Both outlets reported that Khan’s comments came on the same day the Skydance-Warner Bros. Discovery deal officially closed, with 411Mania confirming the acquisition’s completion was announced Tuesday.

AEW has long been broadcast under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella, making the completed Skydance acquisition a significant corporate shift for the promotion even as its on-screen programming, including Grand Slam France, continued without interruption.

No additional details about changes to AEW’s broadcast arrangements, contracts or programming plans under Skydance have been reported at this time.
