WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray was not impressed by Cody Rhodes’ televised interview segment with Michael Cole on the September 22, 2026 episode of “SmackDown,” describing it as “polished and soulless.”
According to Wrestling Headlines, Bully Ray reviewed both the on-air SmackDown segment and its off-camera follow-up discussion on Busted Open, in which Rhodes addressed recent betrayals and setbacks he has faced storyline-wise. Bully Ray argued that the immaculate suit, controlled lighting and measured delivery Rhodes displayed during the interview undercut the raw emotion the segment appeared designed to convey.
Rhodes, for his part, defended his approach, saying he was staying true to himself in how he discussed the material during the interview.
