Anthony Bowens and Max Caster Reportedly Nearing Free Agency as AEW Contracts Set to Expire

Anthony Bowens and Max Caster, the tag team formerly known as The Acclaimed, could be headed toward free agency, according to a report from Fightful Select. The outlet reports that the pair’s AEW contracts are set to expire at the start of October, and that there have not been negotiations toward new deals.

Fightful Select’s report states plainly that when the site followed up on the contract status of both wrestlers, “there haven’t been negotiations about a new deal,” pointing to no confirmed agreement in place as their current terms near their end.

The report was first detailed by Fightful and has since been picked up and summarized by other outlets, including NoDQ and 411Mania, both of which cited Fightful’s reporting on the situation. Wrestling Inc also covered the update, framing it as a look at what to expect from AEW regarding the duo’s status heading into October.

Bowens and Caster rose to prominence in AEW as The Acclaimed, becoming one of the promotion’s most popular tag teams. As of this report, no timetable for negotiations, extension talks, or a departure has been confirmed by AEW or by either wrestler.
