Booker T says he nearly made his own return to the ring at WrestleMania 37, revealing that he was originally supposed to be Bad Bunny’s tag team partner in the match against The Miz and John Morrison, a spot that ultimately went to Damian Priest.
“I almost did a tag match with Bad Bunny. It was actually supposed to be me and Bad Bunny as opposed to Damian Priest and Bad Bunny,” Booker T said, according to Fightful.
Bad Bunny made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37 alongside Priest in a tag match against The Miz and John Morrison. According to Wrestling News, Booker T did not say why the plan changed or why Priest ended up in the match instead of him.
Priest’s pairing with Bad Bunny at WrestleMania 37 became a notable moment in both men’s careers, with Priest going on to become a prominent singles star in WWE in the years since. It remains unclear at what stage of WWE’s WrestleMania 37 planning the switch from Booker T to Priest was made.
