Cody Rhodes has confirmed he has re-signed with WWE and intends to end his in-ring career with the company. Rhodes made the revelation during an appearance on the “Flagrant” podcast, released ahead of the October 16 theatrical release of “Street Fighter,” a film starring both Rhodes and Flagrant host Andrew Schulz.
According to Rajah, which quoted Rhodes directly from the interview, he told the Flagrant hosts, “Forgive me if this is breaking news and please edit it if I’m not allowed to share, which is fine. I just re-signed with WWE, so I’ll end my wrestling career” there.
Wrestling Headlines reported that Rhodes did not disclose the length or financial terms of the new agreement during the podcast appearance. Wrestling News added that Rhodes indicated the new deal allows him to step away for outside projects, such as his film work, while remaining under WWE contract.
Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 after his run in AEW and went on to defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40, a victory widely framed around his “finishing the story” narrative. The new contract, as described in the podcast comments, suggests Rhodes now views his long-term future as tied exclusively to WWE for the remainder of his wrestling career.
No further details on the contract’s duration, financial terms, or creative plans have been disclosed by Rhodes or WWE at this time.
