Darby Allin is back in the mountains. The AEW star shared a photo from Mont Blanc, located near Chamonix, on his Instagram Stories, accompanying the image with the caption “nice to be in the mountains again,” according to Fightful.
The post marks Allin’s latest venture into high-altitude climbing, a pursuit he has become known for outside of the ring. Last year, Allin successfully completed a climb to the summit of Mount Everest, one of the most demanding physical challenges in the world. During that climb, he listened to country music and was reported to have been moved to tears upon reaching the top.
Mont Blanc, which straddles the border of France and Italy near Chamonix, is the highest mountain in the Alps and a significant undertaking in its own right, though considerably less extreme than an Everest ascent. Allin’s decision to return to mountain climbing so soon after his Everest trip underscores how central the activity has become to his life away from professional wrestling.
Allin has built a reputation in AEW for an unusually physical, risk-taking in-ring style, and his willingness to pursue extreme personal challenges outside of wrestling has mirrored that persona. His mountaineering pursuits have become a recurring storyline in his public profile, often drawing attention from wrestling media and fans who follow his activity on social media between in-ring commitments.
No further details were provided in Allin’s Instagram post regarding the purpose of the Mont Blanc trip, whether it was a full summit attempt, or how it fits into his broader wrestling schedule. Fightful’s report did not include additional comment from Allin beyond the brief caption accompanying the photo.
The update comes as Allin continues to be a fixture of AEW’s roster, with his mountaineering exploits running parallel to his wrestling career rather than interrupting it. Fans will likely look for further updates on social media to see whether this latest mountain trip develops into a more extensive climbing attempt similar to his Everest summit.
