Big Mami ended months away from Lucha Libre AAA television by returning at Héroes Inmortales Week One, fighting off Karmen Petrovic after Los Perros del Mal retained the AAA World Trios Championship.
The opening match of the show saw Perros del Mal members Angel, Daga and Berto defend the AAA World Trios Championship against the trio of Niño Hamburguesa, Mr. Iguana and AAA Latin American Champion La Parka. According to Fightful, F4W Online and 411Mania, Los Perros del Mal came away with the win and retained their titles.
The story did not end with the bell. Per all three outlets, Los Perros del Mal launched a post-match assault on the losing trio of La Parka, Mr. Iguana and Niño Hamburguesa after the title defense. Karmen Petrovic, aligned with Los Perros del Mal, took part in the attack and turned her attention toward Niño Hamburguesa.
That is when Big Mami made her presence felt. F4W Online reported that her appearance marked a return to AAA programming after an extended absence from television, and Fightful’s report framed the moment directly as Big Mami making the save for Niño Hamburguesa by fighting off Karmen Petrovic. 411Mania’s headline similarly characterized the sequence as Big Mami attacking Karmen Petrovic following the match.
The exact circumstances of Big Mami’s absence from AAA television were not detailed in the available reports, nor was any explanation given for her decision to intervene on this particular night. What is clear from the reporting is that her return came at a high-profile moment on AAA’s calendar, with Héroes Inmortales Week One opening the promotion’s annual Héroes Inmortales event cycle with a Trios Championship bout.
The AAA World Trios Championship remains with Los Perros del Mal following the successful defense, keeping Angel, Daga and Berto atop that division heading into the remainder of the Héroes Inmortales schedule. La Parka continues to hold the AAA Latin American Championship, a title that was not on the line in this encounter but places him among the champions involved in the opening bout.
With Karmen Petrovic now having been on the receiving end of Big Mami’s intervention, and Niño Hamburguesa having been the target of the post-match attack that prompted the save, the angle sets up a rivalry thread between Big Mami and the Perros del Mal faction that AAA may look to continue as Héroes Inmortales progresses.
