AEW Dynamite Ratings Dip Against World Series, Viewership Still Tops 600,000

AEW Dynamite’s October 28 episode, billed as “Fright Night,” averaged 620,000 viewers on TBS, according to figures reported by Wrestlenomics. That total marks a decline from the 661,000 viewers the show pulled in on October 21, a drop of roughly 6.2 percent week over week.

The Wednesday night broadcast also saw its key demographic number slip. Dynamite scored a 0.14 rating among adults 18 to 49, down from the 0.15 demo rating recorded the previous week, a decrease of about 6.7 percent. According to F4W Online, that 0.14 figure ties the second-lowest demo rating the show has posted in recent memory.

Both outlets attributed the decline in part to competition from Major League Baseball’s World Series, which aired opposite Dynamite on October 28. Live sporting events of that magnitude routinely draw away a portion of cable’s available audience, and wrestling programming has historically felt the impact when postseason baseball overlaps with its weekly time slot.

F4W Online further noted that the 620,000 viewer figure represents the lowest audience total for a Wednesday night airing of Dynamite since September 9, underscoring that this is not an isolated dip but part of a broader softening trend for the show’s Wednesday audience over the preceding weeks.

Despite the declines in both total viewers and demo rating, Dynamite still managed to clear the 600,000 viewer threshold, a benchmark that has become a notable marker for the show amid a competitive cable television landscape. The figures reflect AEW’s continued challenge of maintaining its audience against major live sports programming, a recurring obstacle for any weekly wrestling broadcast sharing a night with high-profile events such as the World Series.

Neither report indicated any changes to Dynamite’s weekly schedule or network slot as a result of these numbers. AEW has not issued any public statement addressing the ratings performance of the October 28 broadcast specifically in relation to World Series competition.
