Nic Nemeth had high praise for Leon Slater ahead of their TNA World Championship showdown at Bound For Glory, set to air on October 11.
Slater earned his title opportunity by invoking Option C, giving up his X-Division Championship in the process to position himself for a shot at Nemeth’s world title.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Nemeth addressed his own longevity and conditioning as he heads into the marquee matchup. “I’m 23 years in and I’m in better shape than most people who are 23 years old,” Nemeth said, according to Fightful.
The comment underscores Nemeth’s confidence heading into a pay-per-view main event against a significantly younger opponent who has been building momentum in TNA’s X-Division before cashing in that opportunity for a world title shot.
Bound For Glory will be headlined by the Nemeth-Slater bout for the TNA World Championship, with the stakes set by Slater’s decision to relinquish X-Division gold for a chance at the promotion’s top prize.
