Reina Volcan made her return to WWE NXT during the September 22, 2026 episode on The CW, attacking both Kali Armstrong and Skylar Raye in the middle of their singles match, according to Fightful.
Fightful reported that as the match between Armstrong and Raye was underway, referee Dallas Irvin was knocked out of the ring. With Irvin down, Volcan entered the ring and targeted both competitors, per the outlet.
Ringside News noted that Volcan, formerly known as Nikki Blackheart, had been off WWE NXT television for weeks before her return and had previously teased preparing for what she called the “Volcán Era.” Both 411Mania and Ringside News confirmed the attack left Armstrong and Raye laid out following the interference.
The angle came on the same episode that saw three-time Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appear on WWE NXT, according to eWrestlingNews, with Rhodes on hand to present the winning team’s trophy for the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The opening round of that tournament also began on the September 22 broadcast, per eWrestlingNews.
WWE has not detailed what comes next for Volcan following her assault on Armstrong and Raye, but the interference sets up a potential confrontation between the three as the storyline develops on WWE NXT.
