Jake Hager, the former WWE and AEW star known to wrestling fans as Jack Swagger, is being sent to a specialist in Miami after undergoing emergency eye surgery, according to UFC president Dana White.
White provided the update during the post-fight press conference for Dana White’s Contender Series, held the Tuesday following Hager’s injury. “He went into emergency surgery that night, and then we’re sending him to a specialist down in Miami,” White said.
The 44-year-old Hager suffered the injury during a Power Slap bout the previous week, when he was knocked out by Johnny Magna via TKO. Magna’s slap left Hager with blood and fluid leaking from his eye, prompting the emergency surgery that same night.
No timeline for Hager’s recovery or further treatment has been disclosed. Further updates on his condition are expected as they become available.
