Marina Shafir has set her sights on AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné, delivering a pointed message directed at the champion following the October 24, 2026 episode of AEW Collision in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The confrontation stems from an eight-person mixed tag match on that Collision broadcast, which saw the Death Riders face off against Shane Taylor Promotions. Shafir picked up the win for her team, forcing Trish Adora to tap out to PAC’s Brutalizer submission hold. With the victory in hand, Shafir shifted her focus toward Moné in a backstage promo released by AEW.
According to Wrestling Headlines, Shafir made clear in that promo that she wants an opportunity to face Moné in the ring. The callout follows an earlier appearance by Shafir on AEW Dynamite, where she interrupted Moné’s celebration after the champion had just retained her title at AEW WrestleDream. During that segment, as reported by Fightful, Shafir told Moné to “not be a pussy,” a message she doubled down on following Collision, telling the champion that she is “not a pussy” herself and that Moné needs to “swing your dominance between her legs.”
The pattern of events, Shafir inserting herself into Moné’s title celebration on Dynamite and then following up with another direct challenge after her own win over Trish Adora on Collision, points toward an escalating issue between the two. Moné has been the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion since her WrestleDream title defense, and Shafir’s repeated call-outs suggest she is positioning herself as a challenger for that championship.
It remains unconfirmed whether AEW has booked a formal match between Shafir and Moné, and no date or event has been announced for any such contest. The confrontations so far have played out through promos and interference rather than an in-ring meeting between the two. Shafir’s affiliation with the Death Riders faction and her victory over Trish Adora add to a run of momentum that she appears intent on using as leverage in pursuit of a title opportunity against Moné.
