Steven Borden, the son of Sting, says he has been “a little bit surprised” by how fans have reacted to him both on social media and in arenas since he began appearing on AEW programming. Borden made the comments during an interview with Good Karma Wrestling alongside TNT Champion Darby Allin, according to Fightful.
Borden said he believes crowds have been generous toward him as he gets his footing in professional wrestling. He is set to team with Allin against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight at AEW All Out, with the winners of that match earning an unspecified prize, according to Wrestling Headlines.
In a separate conversation reported by Fightful, Borden said watching his father wrestle his final match is what convinced him to pursue a career in professional wrestling himself. He described his journey in the business so far as “a fun ride.”
Borden has increasingly become part of AEW’s on-screen storylines in recent weeks, culminating in his pairing with Allin for the All Out tag match against Fletcher and Knight. Neither Fightful nor Wrestling Headlines detailed further specifics of what the winning team will receive, and no additional stipulations for the match have been confirmed.
