WWE is gearing towards their next premium live event - SummerSlam 2026 - which is going to be a two-night show taking place earlier in the month than usual, on August 1 and 2. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote about some of WWE's plans for the SummerSlam card including changes that have taken place recently. As reported before by him, Rhea Ripley was expected to wrestle in a key match against either Alexa Bliss or Jacy Jayne, but Ripley suffered a knee injury last month, putting her status for SummerSlam completely up in the air.
