Thunder Rosa says she is not preoccupied with topping her historic Lights Out match against Britt Baker, even as Baker’s AEW return has reignited talk of their past rivalry.
Rosa and Baker met in an Unsanctioned Lights Out match on the March 11, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite, a bout widely regarded as one of the most celebrated women’s matches in the promotion’s history. With Baker back in AEW and making comments referencing Rosa since her return, Rosa was asked directly about the situation during an appearance on the Battleground Podcast.
According to Ringside News, Rosa brushed off Baker’s remarks and said she has another woman to worry about, indicating her focus lies elsewhere rather than on reigniting the old feud. Rosa made clear that trying to outdo their 2021 encounter is not something driving her approach to Baker’s comments.
Rosa also addressed her own growth since that match, telling the podcast, according to eWrestlingNews, “I am more mature. I am more chill.” She added that she is not closing the door on her history with Baker, but she is not letting that past rivalry dictate what comes next for her in AEW.
Rosa’s comments come as speculation builds around whether AEW will look to book a follow-up encounter between the two now that Baker has returned to the company. Neither Rosa nor the reporting outlets indicated any confirmed plans for a rematch, and AEW has not announced any such bout.
