Three stories, one show, and somehow the least interesting thing about any of it is the venue change. Fellas, I’ve been to buildings in Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi — they could put this card on in a parking lot with a generator and it’d still do the number it’s gonna do. The venue swap is a logistics memo dressed up as news. Move along.

The “did anybody refuse to travel” piece, I get why it ran, but c’mon — we all know how that works. Guys don’t refuse, guys get “rested.” There’s a quiet conversation in a hallway and nobody’s name ends up on a dirt sheet. The fact nobody publicly balked tells you nothing except that the machine is still the machine. Next.

Here’s what should have every one of you steamed: Finn Balor vs. GUNTHER might not happen.

They’ve been building this slow and mean on television — GUNTHER doing what GUNTHER does, grinding a guy down with looks and forearms, Balor doing the quiet-storm thing he’s been doing since he turned into the best fifty-year-old veteran trapped in a forty-year-old’s body. That’s a *house show main event* in 1998 and a disgrace to waste in 2026. You don’t tease the Ring General versus a guy who used to be a literal devil and then let it evaporate because the go-home slot needs a tag match with a returning legend nobody asked for.

I don’t care what else is on that Riyadh card. I don’t care if they’ve got two Hall of Famers wrestling in slow motion for the nostalgia pop, or some celebrity walk-on to keep the sponsors smiling. If Balor-GUNTHER gets bumped for filler, that’s not booking, that’s cowardice with a production budget. You build a monster like GUNTHER by feeding him killers, not by parking him in catering while the undercard gets the spotlight.

Old-school rule, and it never changes: when two guys have heat, you strike while the iron’s hot. You don’t let a storyline cool off for three months because the calendar said “big show, big names” and somebody in a conference room decided chemistry doesn’t matter as much as star power on a poster. Wrestling’s littered with the corpses of matches that “would’ve happened eventually.” Eventually is where good angles go to die.

Get the tickets sold, fine, that’s business. Shuffle the venue, nobody cares. But if Crown Jewel comes and goes without Balor-GUNTHER, don’t tell me this company’s learned a damn thing about building a main event. Tell me they’ve just gotten real good at selling seats to a show that forgot why people buy them in the first place.
