MJF made a surprise video appearance at NJPW Road to King of Pro-Wrestling on October 7, calling out Ryohei Oiwa immediately after Oiwa and Zack Sabre Jr defeated Yota Tsuji and Ares, according to Fightful.
Per Fightful’s report, once the match ended and the lights went down, MJF appeared on the arena screen and told the NJPW audience that the promotion “isn’t a real company that doesn’t matter,” before issuing a challenge directed at Oiwa.
The appearance raises the possibility of MJF working a program in NJPW, though no match, date, or further details beyond the video segment have been confirmed. Fightful’s report did not specify whether Oiwa responded to the challenge on camera or what, if anything, has been arranged for a follow-up.
The segment came on the heels of a tag match pitting Oiwa and Sabre Jr against Tsuji and Ares at the Road to King of Pro-Wrestling event, with Oiwa and Sabre Jr picking up the win before MJF’s message aired.
