Thekla does not believe Mercedes Moné’s “five-foot dumb blonde” line, delivered during a Dynamite segment, was actually directed at her. The comment came after Moné captured the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In, with Thekla emerging as one of the wrestlers positioning herself as a potential challenger for the title.
During the on-screen exchange, Moné said to Thekla, “If I wanted to see a five-foot dumb blonde bitch, I would look in a mirror,” according to Fightful.
Speaking to TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Thekla brushed off the insult and said she never took it personally. “I don’t think she was actually talking at me. I think everybody knows that,” Thekla said, according to Ringside News.
Neither Thekla nor Moné has publicly clarified who the remark was aimed at if not Thekla herself, and AEW has not addressed the line further. With Thekla having stepped forward as a possible challenger for Moné’s AEW Women’s World Championship, the exchange remains part of the build toward a potential future confrontation between the two, though no match has been confirmed.
