AEW WrestleDream 2026 took place on October 17 at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, headlined by AEW World Champion Will Ospreay defending his title in a Clockwork Carnage match against six challengers: Samoa Joe, Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet, and Darby Allin. Ospreay emerged from the multi-man gauntlet-style main event to retain the championship, fending off a field stacked with former world champions and top-tier contenders in one of the most heavily loaded title matches AEW has assembled this year.
The Clockwork Carnage stipulation put Ospreay in the position of defending against seven total opponents across the bout, a format designed to test a champion’s ability to survive attrition as much as outright competition. With Joe, Copeland, Okada, and Takeshita all former AEW or New Japan world titleholders in the mix, and Bailey, Ricochet, and Allin bringing high-risk styles to the match, the bout was positioned as the signature attraction of the card. Ospreay’s win extends his reign as AEW World Champion and keeps the title away from a group of challengers who each had a credible case to walk out with the belt.
In the co-main event, Mercedes Moné defended the AEW Women’s Championship against Thekla. Moné retained, continuing her championship reign and turning back a challenger who had earned her way into a marquee pay-per-view title opportunity on one of AEW’s biggest shows of the year.
The WrestleDream card also featured the AEW World Tag Team Championship, with the Young Bucks defending against Knight and Fletcher, and a singles matchup between Jon Moxley and Davis. A Tailgate Brawl pre-show match involving Sister of Sin also took place ahead of the main card, according to PW Torch’s report on the event.
WrestleDream 2026 was broadcast live on pay-per-view through outlets including PPV.com, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime, with Wade Keller of PW Torch, Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net, and Alex Kahrs of Wrestleview among the outlets providing live coverage from Orlando. The event underscored AEW’s continued reliance on large-scale, multi-competitor stipulation matches to settle its top championship, with Ospreay’s victory keeping the AEW World Championship picture centered on him heading into the promotion’s next major events.
